How FriendsPoly Was Established
Young, at tender age of 21 when city boys were ganging up to celebrate the spirit of youth, our main character moved in to Colombo for sheer survival. He had nothing to lose but mindful of Dreams. Begun his career at a private entity which supplied "polybags" as a "marketing executive"
Even though this may not sound as the best way to start a high spirit company profile, this is how it exactly started. And this is where the real inspirations were. Our managing director ASELA – i.e. Joy Asela Fernando, long lonely journeys of meeting various people across busy surroundings of Colombo corporate sector made the founding inspiration of a visionary. In fact to be honest it was an inspiration for reaching financial freedom to stand against the odds and to remain independent. Indeed it was not only him who he was with, but maybe the only person who had the vision, courage and enthusiasm not to give up at any cost but to reach the dream.....the dream which eventually became the survival of many. Yes, let's not go on and on and...most certainly it was not a bed of roses.
He learns... in the 8 years of his employment in private ownerships, he learns every corner, inside out of polythene, poly propylene which was converted to bags...and the ever demanding customer and the complications of business and most importantly the underlying opportunity of it.
